Welcome to our AFL Betting Tips for the Preliminary Finals. We are down to 4 teams in the competition. Richmond, Geelong, Collingwood and GWS. The first game kicks off Friday Night between Richmond and Geelong.
After a dominant win against the Brisbane Lions last weekend, Richmond will come into this game full of confidence. Furthermore, they are still hurting from last season’s Prelim exit and will not want to make the same mistake again. The good news for them is that Tom Hawkins has been suspended but that still leaves Dangerfield, Selwood and Ablett on the field. The last time these two met were in Round 12 and it was Geelong that came out on top. Things are a little different now considering Richmond had many injuries. The bookmakers have Richmond as solid favourites and we can’t disagree there.
The second game will be on Saturday afternoon between Collingwood and GWS. The Giants will be missing Toby Greene who has been suspended for one game after last weekend’s incident. Furthermore, they are also missing Lachie Whitfield due to injury. Collingwood come into this game as favourites and that doesn’t surprise us, especially when you consider the fact that GWS have won just three times at the MCG in their whole entire career. Nevertheless, Collingwood are known to grab the lead and lose it so we’re expecting a close game.
