Although Essendon has had the upper hand against West Coast in recent times, the Eagles have dominated them overall and we’re confident that will continue. West Coast sit 5th on the ladder but they have only 4 points difference between them and 6th, 7th and 8th position. They can’t get comfortable and will need to win more games to make Top 8. Essendon are currently in 10th position and will be hungry for a win as well but we just can’t see it happening against a team like the Eagles, at Optus Stadium.
Saturday’s action begins with Melbourne taking on Fremantle. The Dockers are currently enjoying a 3 win streak including a 1 point win against the Lions and a nail-biting win 4 point win against the Pies. We’re expecting a low and strategic game as Melbourne will need to start winning immediately if they want to make top 8.
Saturday Night hosts a big game between Port Adelaide and the number one team on the ladder, Geelong. Port currently sit 9th on the ladder with 6 wins and 6 losses. They’ve won only one game at home this season and that was against the worst team in the competition, Carlton. We’re expecting Geelong to win easily and expect both sides to score enough to get over the total.
Lastly, Sunday’s afternoon clash between the Western Bulldogs and Collingwood will be a game we’re looking forward to very much. There’s no denying that the Bulldogs at Marvel can be dangerous and with Collingwood getting some bad media attention this week, it makes things very interesting. We can’t see either team taking the lead and keeping it throughout the whole 4 quarters and hence the Wire to Wire option looks the goods.
